ABOUT US

Our Goal
"Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together." — James Cash Penney.
Mindful Health Counseling was created to bring consciousness and awareness to our life journey while providing a space for growth. We cannot change what we are not aware of; we strive to create more curiosity with self and others to increase our inner healing. Our goal is to work together to create results that are intentional and long-lasting in a safe space filled with warmth, non-judgement, compassion, and empathy. You are not alone in this journey. We hope that through your time with us, you will be able to leap back into the world as your most authentic and core self.

OUR SERVICES

Individual Therapy
There are times in life we feel stuck whether that shows up in work, relationships, or just in our own mind. We offer support for adults struggling with anxiety, past trauma, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, emotional childhood wounds or feeling “not good enough”, life transitions, and grief.
Parent Support Therapy
There are many challenges raising children at every stage of development. Whether you’re facing a new diagnosis, emotional struggles, family transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, therapy can help you build confidence, strengthen your relationship with your child, and develop practical daily skills.
Teen Therapy
Adolescence is a challenging time filled with emotional, social, and academic stressors leading parents feeling helpless. Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, ADHD, perfectionist and/or people pleaser tendencies, social anxiety, transitional difficulties, and/or self-esteem, therapy is tailored to help them explore their thoughts and emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and foster resilience for life’s challenges.
Peak Performance Therapy
Being an athlete, performer, or high-achiever comes with high pressure from self or others and feelings of failure when that may not achieved. Whether you are struggling with the “yips”, current or past injuries, or just wanting to unlock your full potential, this may be a good fit for yourself or teen.

My Approach:
The work I do is focused through an Attachment framework, with Internal Family Systems and EMDR interweaved in. These frameworks are what allow us to do the deeper work and move towards the goal of long-lasting growth. From the very beginning of our work, we will create a new understanding and insight with connections of our current distress to our past wounds and re-integrate our wounded parts in a way that holds less weight. I am a trained EMDR therapist and enjoy utilizing a mix of talk-therapy processing with EMDR structured sessions. I find that this mix allows individuals to have a multitude of tools and resources to combat their distress while keeping space for emotional and somatic processing.
I also utilize some Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy techniques dependent on age and/or clients’ needs. I have a passion working with teens and their parents to help navigate the fun, but difficult life stage with many autonomy shifts. My approach allows teens to have a safe space to express and explore their emotions, while creating tools to help manage and advocate for their needs. During this process I also create space for parent sessions to have a parallel process for the best outcome for all.

EMDR
Going beyond Talk Therapy
Learn how EMDR may benefit you:
How it works:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based practice that works with the brain to process and heal from distressing memories that may be contributing to current emotional challenges while keeping us in a window of tolerance. Using bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories, allowing them to be integrated in a more adaptive way. It takes therapy a step further than traditional talk therapy.
Who it may help:
EMDR may be helpful for:
-
Past Traumas/Childhood Emotional Wounds
-
Anxiety/Panic Attacks
-
Depression
-
Phobias
-
Peak Performance
-
Grief
-
Chronic Illnesses/Chronic Pain
